What Email and Contacts data will be transferred?

Email Migration

Read/unread emails, folder structures, and attachments accepted by your destination email provider will be transferred. However, the following categories of email messages, attachments, and settings may not be eligible for transfer during the migration process, subject to the technical constraints of the destination inbox, file size limitations, and interoperability requirements across different platforms:

  • Emails with Large Attachments: Any email containing an attachment that exceeds the maximum file size permitted by the destination email service provider.
  • Corrupted or Malformed Emails: Email messages that are structurally defective, improperly encoded, or otherwise unreadable by the migration system.
  • Junk/Spam Folder: Emails categorized as spam or junk by the originating system.
  • Trash/Deleted Items Folder: Emails in the "Trash" or equivalent deleted items folder.
  • Draft Emails: Unsent email drafts, unless explicitly supported by the destination system.
  • System-Generated Emails: Messages automatically generated by email systems, including but not limited to delivery receipts, read receipts, and calendar invitations.
  • Mailbox Rules, Signatures, and Settings: User-configured mailbox settings, including but not limited to custom rules, email filters, signature blocks, and folder permissions.

Contacts Migration

Contacts data will be mapped and transferred to the destination address book. If there is not a 1:1 equivalent field available in the destination system, any unmapped contact data will be moved to the notes section within the address book, if supported by the destination system. The following categories of contacts and configurations may not be eligible for transfer due to technical or platform constraints:

  • Corrupted or Malformed Contacts: Contacts that contain incomplete, unreadable, or improperly formatted data.
  • Junk/Spam Contacts: Contacts identified as spam, flagged as unverified, or stored in system-generated spam lists.
  • Trash/Deleted Contacts: Contacts residing in the Trash or equivalent deleted items folder.
  • Distribution Lists & Contact Groups: Contacts will be transferred as individual entries but not as a mailing list or group.
  • Custom Contact Fields: If a custom contact field in the source system does not have an equivalent in the destination system, the data will be moved to the notes section whenever possible.

Storage Limitations and Migration Resumption

It’s the user's responsibility to ensure that the destination inbox has sufficient storage space. The migration process will be stopped if the destination inbox reaches its maximum storage capacity during migration.

To proceed, the user must:

  • Free up space by deleting unnecessary emails, contacts, or attachments, or
  • Increase the storage capacity of the destination inbox.

Once additional storage is available, the user should start a new migration, which will migrate emails and contacts from where the previous process stopped, ensuring that no duplicate emails or contacts are created, provided they remain in their original folder locations or contact lists.

It is the sole responsibility of the user to verify that all necessary emails and contacts have been successfully migrated. Users are advised to independently confirm the completeness of their email and contact data after the migration.
