How do I import PST into desktop Outlook?

Before you start: Outlook needs an email account set up before it can open a PST file.  Add existing email account first, then follow the steps below.

Windows users: PST files only work in classic Outlook. The new Outlook for Windows can't open or import them. If you don't see File → Open & Export, you're in new Outlook. Turn the New Outlook toggle off to switch back to classic.

You will receive two PST files one for email and one for contacts.

1. In Outlook, Go to File and click on Open & Export.
   • Select Open Outlook Data File

2. Choose your PST file.

• Your contacts will be located under Exported Contacts in the address book.

• Your emails will be found under a folder labeled email.pst.
